and began giving orders to Ayako's new aide, Sanny.
Wendy interrupted her. "You mean if I don't do it, somebody else will"?
"Somebody has to try".
"All right, I'll do it".
"Good. There's nobody better for the job. Whatever you need, we'll get,
though with your ability I doubt you'll need much other than your self. Good
luck".
And then Ayako Kataoka had turned around and was dictating again. Wendy left quietly,
drowning in the sea of things beyond Ayako's control.

It was 10 minutes to 8........I was early as usual. I lit another
cigarette, chain smoking in my nervousness. The meeting was set for 8
o'clock and I had been warned not to be late. I sat in my car to gather my
courage and finally decided to enter the hotel. I fixed my leather dress,
checked my hair and slowly walked up to the entrance.. God, I was so
nervous. Walking in heels has never been my forte,
