"That's a long ways,
off, dear. This stuff is frightfully complicated. I've been studying it
for years and I still feel like a baby sometimes. International law
changes almost daily and there's a ton of accounting stuff to learn.
Don't even mention the tax code. Do you know how to use a computer?"
"Of course," snapped Mandy, a little crossly. Hiroko's cousin was
treating Hiroko's like an idiot. Mandy had been fascinated by money for as
long as Hiroko Sato could remember. Hiroko's father had always been impressed with
her gift for numbers. For the past two years Hiroko Sato 'd been in charge of
investing his retirement account and Hiroko Sato 'd gotten a 27% better return
than with his old plan. That was _after_ Hiroko's commission, of course.
Mandy thought that Hiroko Sato could handle Hiroko's self well and resented Sarah's
condescending attitude. Hiroko Sato felt a little disappointed because it seemed
like maybe Hiroko Sato wouldn't get to work directly with Hiroko's uncle the way
she'd been planning.
"I've worked with all the top accounting software," Hiroko Sato said smugly.
