Than A Door For Evangelism.

The Open Door Is Simply
A Guarantee Of Salvation Or Eternal Life,
Another Way Of Saying It Is That

From The Hour Of Trial
That Is Going To Come Upon
The Whole World To Test
Those Who Live On The Earth.

God Is Poured Out On The Earth.
The Risen Jesus Extends To Whoever

THE NATURE OF PRAISE

Praise, According To The Scriptures,
Is An Act Of Our Will
That Flows Out Of An Awe And Reverence

Praise Gives Glory To God
And Opens Us Up
To A Deeper Union With Him.
It Turns Our Attention Off Of Our Problems
And On The Nature And Character
Of God Himself.

As We Focus Our Minds On God
And Proclaim His Goodness,
We Reflect His Glory Back To Him.
The Results Can Fill You
With Peace And Contentment
And Transform Your Outlook On Life.

You Will Keep In Perfect Peace
Those Whose Minds Are Steadfast,
Because They Trust In You.

Very Simply, We Praise God
Because He Is Worthy Of Our Praise

For Great Is The Lord
And Most Worthy Of Praise;
He Is To Be Feared Above All gods.

Another Foundational Reason To Praise God
Is Simple Obedience.
The Bible Says God Is A "Jealous" God
Who Demands And Desires Our Praise.
"You Shall Have No Other gods Before Me,"
Says The First Commandment

Impress Them On Your Children.
Talk About Them When You Sit At Home
And When You Walk Along The Road,
When You Lie Down
And When You Get Up.
(Deuteronomy 6:7).

"Let Everything That Has Breath
Praise The Lord"
( Psalm 150:6).

As We Praise God,
We Will Discover Incredible Benefits
For Our Lives.
That's Because Human Beings
Were Created By God To Praise Him

Do Not Be Afraid, For I Am With You;
I Will Bring Your Children From The East
And Gather You From The West.
I Will Say To The North, ‘Give Them Up!’
And To The South,
‘Do Not Hold Them Back.’
Bring My Sons From Afar
And My Daughters
From The Ends Of The Earth—
Everyone Who Is Called By My Name,
Whom I Created For My Glory,
Whom I Formed And Made.”

Lead Out Those Who Have Eyes But Are Blind,
Who Have Ears But Are Deaf.
All The Nations Gather Together
And The Peoples Assemble.
Which Of Their Gods Foretold This
And Proclaimed To Us The Former Things?
Let Them Bring In Their Witnesses
To Prove They Were Right,
So That Others May Hear And Say,
“It Is True.”

Due To Man's Original Sin,
However, This Relationship Was Disrupted.
Praising God Helps Restore Us
To That Right Relationship,
For God Actually Dwells In The Praises
Of His People

Yet You Are Enthroned As The Holy One;
You Are The One Israel Praises.
(Psalm 22:3)

As We Draw Near To The Father In Praise,
He Draws Near To Us

Come Near To God
And He Will Come Near To You.
Wash Your Hands, You Sinners,
And Purify Your Hearts,
You Double-Minded.
( James 4:8).

Praise Is Also Our Ultimate Destiny.
When The Lord Jesus Christ
Returns Again To Earth,
All Creation -- Including Prideful Mankind –
Will Recognize His Glory
And Praise Him

Therefore God Exalted Him
To The Highest Place
And Gave Him The Name
That Is Above Every Name,
That At The Name Of Jesus
Every Knee Should Bow,
In Heaven And On Earth
And Under The Earth,
And Every Tongue Acknowledge
That Jesus Christ Is Lord,
To The Glory Of God The Father.
(Philippians 2:9-11).

God Also Gives Us Assurances
Of Additional Blessings
As We Praise Him.
When We Praise God,
He Honors Us As His Children,
And Provides His Loving Protection

“The Lord Lives!
Praise Be To My Rock!
Exalted Be My God, The Rock, My Savior!
He Is The God Who Avenges Me,
Who Puts The Nations Under Me,
Who Sets Me Free From My Enemies.
You Exalted Me Above My Foes;
From A Violent Man You Rescued Me.
Therefore I Will Praise You,
Lord, Among The Nations;
I Will Sing The Praises Of Your Name.

“He Gives His King Great Victories;
He Shows Unfailing Kindness
To His Anointed,
To David And His Descendants Forever.”
(2 Samuel 22:47-51).

Failure To Praise God,
However, Leaves Us Out Of Fellowship
With God And Out Of His Divine Protection.

Our Praise Can Also Serve
As A Powerful Witness
To Those Who Do Not Know The Lord

But You Are A Chosen Generation,
A Royal Priesthood,
A Holy Nation,
His Own Special People,
That You May Proclaim
The Praises Of Him
Who Called You Out Of Darkness
Into His Marvelous Light;
( 1 Peter 2:9).

Also, God Can Work Miraculously
Through Our Praises.
The Ancient Walls Of Jericho
Came Crashing Down,
Giving Victory To God's People,
As A Result Of Shouts Of Praise

So The People Shouted
When The Priests Blew The Trumpets.
And It Happened
When The People Heard
The Sound Of The Trumpet,
And The People Shouted
With A Great Shout,
That The Wall Fell Down Flat.
Then The People Went Up Into The City,
Every Man Straight Before Him,
And They Took The City.
( Joshua 6:20).

The Prison Doors Shook Open
When Paul And Silas Praised God

But At Midnight Paul And Silas
Were Praying And Singing Hymns To God,
And The Prisoners Were Listening To Them.
Suddenly There Was A Great Earthquake,
So That The Foundations
Of The Prison Were Shaken;
And Immediately All The Doors
Were Opened And Everyone’s Chains
Were Loosed.
(Acts 16:25-26)

Praise Is Both Important And Powerful.
So Why Is It So Difficult
At Times To Praise God?
The Bible Explains That,
Even With The Power Of The Indwelling Jesus,
Our Hearts Are Still "More Deceitful
Than All Else"
It Is The Mighty Power Of Christ

God Does Not Will
He Wills In
Through Our Willing.
God Does Not Work
Instead Of Our Working,
But Through Our Working.
God Does Not Energize
Instead Of Our Having Energy;
He Energizes Our Energy.

“The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things,
And Desperately Wicked;
Who Can Know It?
I, The Lord, Search The Heart,
I Test The Mind,
Even To Give Every Man
According To His Ways,
According To The Fruit Of His Doings.

We Sometimes Forget
That We Are Always
Dependent On God To Live
Victoriously In This Life.

Satan Therefore Tries To Persuade Us
That We Will Eventually Reach A Point
Where We Can "Do It Ourselves."
The Scriptures Are Clear That Satan
"Prowls About Like A Roaring Lion,
Seeking Someone To Devour"
(1 Peter 5:8).

Disguised As An "Angel Of Light,"
The Devil And His Host Seek Subtly
To Subvert The Praises
The Children Of God Owe
To Their Heavenly Father.

God, However, Has Given Us Grace
In Times Of Need,
Provided We Humble Ourselves

For Those Who Exalt Themselves
Will Be Humbled,
And Those Who Humble Themselves
Will Be Exalted.
(Matthew 23:12)

Do You Think Scripture Says
Without Reason That He Jealously Longs
For The Spirit
He Has Caused To Dwell In Us?
But He Gives Us More Grace.
That Is Why Scripture Says:

“God Opposes The Proud
But Shows Favor To The Humble.”

Submit Yourselves, Then, To God.
Resist The Devil,
And He Will Flee From You.
(James 4:5-7)

Praising God Allows Us To Defeat
The Strategies Of The Enemy.
As God's Adopted Children,
We No Longer Have To Remain
Slaves To Sin.

And Because You Are Sons,
God Has Sent Forth

The Knowledge Of God,
Bringing Every Thought
Into Captivity To The Obedience Of Christ,

Despite Our Feelings Or Circumstances,
God Often Asks Us To Take The First Step,
Especially When He Is Trying
To Help Us Grow In Our Faith

The Ongoing Quest Of Man
Is To Find Answers
To The Fundamental Questions
Of Human Origin, Human Nature,
And Human Destiny.

Consider It Pure Joy,

Because You Know That The Testing

Many People Think

It Is Also A Condition Of Your Heart –
A Willingness To Exalt God
And Yield To His Will.
Worship Is An Expression
Of Love And Awe To The God
Who Gives Us More Than We Deserve.

For The Word Of The Lord
Is Right And True;
He Is Faithful In All He Does.

JACOB'S LADDER

Jacob The Son Of Isaac
And Grandson Of Abraham,

Esau Was Furious With Jacob
Because Jacob Had Stolen Esau's Birthright,
The Jewish Claim To Inheritance
And Blessing.

Now Jacob Cooked A Stew;
And Esau Came In From The Field,
And He Was Weary.

“Please Feed Me With That Same Red Stew,
For I Am Weary.”
Therefore His Name Was Called Edom.

But Jacob Said,

On His Way To His Relative's House
At Haran,
Jacob Lay Down For The Night Near Luz.

Between Heaven And Earth.
God's Angels Were On It,
Ascending And Descending.

Jacob Saw God
Standing Above The Ladder.
God Repeated The Promise
Of Support He Had Made
To Abraham And Isaac.
He Told Jacob
His Offspring Would Be Many,
Blessing All The Families Of The Earth.
God Then Said,

Behold, I Am With You
And Will Keep You
Wherever You Go,

When Jacob Awoke,
He Believed That God
Was Present In That Place.

And Consecrated It To God.

Jacob Called The Place Bethel,
Meaning "House Of God."

Jacob's Ladder Could Be Interpreted
As A Connection Between
Heaven And Earth,
With God Taking The Initiative
To Reach Out To Man.
The Perfect "Ladder" Is Jesus Christ,
Who Was God Come To Earth
To Save Humanity.
Jesus Refers To Himself
As This Ladder.

“Because I Said To You,
‘I Saw You Under The Fig Tree,’
Do You Believe?
You Will See Greater Things Than These.”
And He Said To Him,
“Most Assuredly,
I Say To You, Hereafter
You Shall See Heaven Open,
And The Angels Of God

Upon The Son of Man.”

Again, If The Trumpet Does Not Sound
A Clear Call,
Who Will Get Ready For Battle?
So It Is With You.
Unless You Speak Intelligible Words
With Your Tongue,
How Will Anyone Know
What You Are Saying?
You Will Just Be Speaking Into The Air.

Undoubtedly There Are All Sorts Of Languages
In The World,
Yet None Of Them Is Without Meaning.
If Then I Do Not Grasp The Meaning
Of What Someone Is Saying,
I Am A Foreigner To The Speaker,
And The Speaker Is A Foreigner To Me.
So It Is With You.
Since You Are Eager For Gifts Of The Spirit,
Try To Excel In Those
That Build Up The Church.

For This Reason The One Who Speaks
In A Tongue
Should Pray That They May Interpret
What They Say.
For If I Pray In A Tongue,
My Spirit Prays,
But My Mind Is Unfruitful.
So What Shall I Do?
I Will Pray With My Spirit,
But I Will Also Pray With My Understanding;
I Will Sing With My Spirit,
But I Will Also Sing
With My Understanding.
Otherwise When You Are Praising
God In The Spirit,
How Can Someone Else,
Who Is Now Put In The Position
Of An Inquirer, Say
“Amen” To Your Thanksgiving,
Since They Do Not Know
What You Are Saying?
You Are Giving Thanks Well Enough,
But No One Else Is Edified.

I Thank God That I Speak In Tongues
More Than All Of You.
But In The Church
I Would Rather Speak Five Intelligible Words
To Instruct Others
Than Ten Thousand Words In A Tongue

Brothers And Sisters,
Stop Thinking Like Children.
In Regard To Evil Be Infants,
But In Your Thinking Be Adults.
In The Law It Is Written:

“With Other Tongues
And Through The Lips Of Foreigners
I Will Speak To This People,
But Even Then They Will Not Listen To Me,
Says The Lord.”

Tongues, Then, Are A Sign,
Not For Believers
But For Unbelievers;
Prophecy, However,
Is Not For Unbelievers
But For Believers.
So If The Whole Church
Comes Together And Everyone
Speaks In Tongues,
And Inquirers Or Unbelievers Come In,
Will They Not Say
That You Are Out Of Your Mind?
But If An Unbeliever
Or An Inquirer Comes In
While Everyone Is Prophesying,
They Are Convicted Of Sin
And Are Brought Under Judgment By All,
As The Secrets Of Their Hearts Are Laid Bare.
So They Will Fall Down
And Worship God, Exclaiming,
“God Is Really Among You!”

For Day After Day
They Seek Me Out;
They Seem Eager To Know My Ways,
As If They Were A Nation
That Does What Is Right
And Has Not Forsaken The Commands
Of Its God.
They Ask Me For Just Decisions
And Seem Eager For God
