ind some food. There were
some succulent roots nearby and the troll had stashed some stolen fruit.
They ate together, laughing and nudging each other. After the late
lunch the middle goat Gruff had to leave. As they waved their goodbyes,
the Middle Goat Gruff said, "Wait until you meet my big brother! He's
much bigger and stronger than I am!"
With a full belly and a contented libido, the troll went back to
his little hollow under the bridge over the babbling brook. Trolls like
to eat a lot and screw a lot and take a lot of naps. He fluffed up the
hay and curled around himself and laid down. No sooner had he started
to nod off than he heard a THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!!!!
What the hell was that! The boards seemed to be shaking loose and
dust was sifting down through the cracks. The troll was sure he could
feel the shaking through the ground he was resting on, and he half
expected his hairy teeth to click together.
The troll jumped out from under the bridge, and paused for half a
