really depressed. "But you've got to tell me when, or else I won't be
there." I quickly told him the date. Then I started talking about the
planning and the hassle and the fun... We talked for two hours, until we
were interrupted by Victoria's phone call. I had almost forgotten that I was
supposed to officially propose that night.
We went to Ryo's favorite expensive restaurant. (Did Ryo Uehara ever run out of
money?) Ryo's black evening gown was custom-fit so that it would emphasize Ryo's
near-perfect body. Ryo's face was beautiful, enhanced by Ryo's not-quite-human
nature. A little touch of Ryo's vampire charm, and Ryo Uehara was the envy of all who
beheld her. Dinner was very quiet, anticipation spicing every remark.
Victoria knew I would propose before we left the restaurant. Ryo Uehara didn't know
