and I took several shots of him as he got ready for the start. He used
the same type of start as "red" and as the gun sounded he exploded off of
the block. In a short time he was well ahead of the rest of the heat and
as he made his first turn he increased his lead.
I watched in amazement as he increased his lead just as "red" had done.
Watching "blackie" so closely I hadn't noticed "red" had walked around the
side of the pool and was cheering on his friend until I felt someones eyes
on me. I looked around and saw "red" looking right at me as I brought the
camera around to take another picture of him. He grinned and waved then
turned back to the race and continued cheering. He was bouncing a little
in his excitement and as he jumped there was very little jiggle in his buns
and I got a few more shots of him. "Blackie" was on the last 25m of his
heat and he also finished with a big lead. His victory celebration was a
two fisted pump of his arms. Then it dawned on me, these two would be
racing each other in the finals, what an exciting race that would be.
"Red" walked back to the blocks to help "blackie" out of the water and
as they congratul
